Airflow decontamination system
System for the decontamination of personnel entering a contamination-controlled area. The shower is designed for the entrance and exit of one person at a time and is equipped with two access doors, normally open, which are interlocked so as not to allow simultaneous opening. A light signal on each side displays the status of the doors.
Entering the air shower from the “unclassified” side automatically activates the airflow when the door closes, following a pre- set operating cycle.
Emergency buttons located inside the air shower and externally on both sides allow the system to be halted immediately, opening the doors.
The air shower can also be used for materials on pallets being transferred from an unclassified area to a classified one (e.g. Grade D). The interior is kept at constant negative pressure in relation to the adjoining rooms by means of a fan that expels air.
